Hello everyone!
I’m back again with another pattern review and it is another for the frills pattern. In this post I’ll be discussing the Stephanie crochet sweater top. Fun fact, this was actually Grace’s first pattern on her website! There is a video tutorial linked as well as the places to buy a copy of the pattern. I opted to buy the pattern from etsy.
The Stephanie top is worked top down in rounds. The armholes are made by marking stitches and adding the sleeves. I have yet to make myself this top, but I did make one for my sister in an xs. Typically, when I make a project that I’m not sure about I’ll make it in my sister’s size before I make one for myself.
My sister in an xs. Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran in Dark Aubergine
The yarn suggested in the pattern was Paintbox Simply Aran, which I did use. Paintbox yarns is one of my favorite brands of yarns. They have a ton of different types and a large rang of colors and they’re super cheap. Plus lovecrafts always has some sort of sale or promo code for an even bigger discount.
I had a lot of issues with making this top, not because of the pattern but because I kept having issues keeping tension. This top was one of the first garments I made and was still getting used to following clothing designs. I made the body way too tight but somehow managed to make the sleeves correctly. Luckily my sister was a good sport and still put it on so I could take a picture.
Until the next post!
