April TBR

Updated: Apr 19, 2021

Hello everyone!

Happy April! I decided for this month that I was going to try something new. I wanted to see, if I preplanned the books I wanted to read, would I stick to my list? At the beginning of the month, I made my list and want to share it with you now. Below are the 10 books I am hoping to read this month and why I am reading them.

Let’s get into it!

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo and Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

I paired these two together because they are the 2nd and 3rd books in the Shadow and Bones trilogy. The new show, Shadow and Bone, premieres on Netflix on April 23. I am hoping to finish the series before the show starts streaming. I was not a huge fan of Shadow and Bone so hopefully the next two books are better.

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

I am planning on doing a buddy read of this book with my friend Amy. We both got the book as an add on through Book of the Month, and have been talking about it.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

These two are the books I chose to read for my 100 classics challenge. I read 4 last month and need to read 6 more before I do my recap post.

An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn and Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

Last month I read the first two books of the Bridgerton series and I’m hoping to continue reading the rest of the series. Since I have 6 more books, I’m going to try and read them in pairs over the next couple of months.

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

I recently watched Howl’s Moving Castle for the first time and found out it was a book, so I purchased it. My friend Amy inspired me to watch the Studio Ghibli movies and I’m a sucker for books that are turned into movies.

The following two books are on my list but I already read them.

Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala

This is my April Book of The Month pick that I actually read already. It was about 300 pages and was a super-fast read.

Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas

This is a Peter Pan retelling that I preordered because I found the author’s TikTok talking about the preorder package that they were putting together. I flew through the book after I got it from Barnes and Noble.

Hopefully, I will stick to this main list and all the books will be on my monthly recap. I know 10 is a lot of books but I think I can do it.

Until next time!
